Iraad started with a Master in Medical Biology at the University of Amsterdam; hen, started a PhD thesis in the Erasmus University, Rotterdam on hereditary forms of Neurodegeneration.
Next, the group and he moved and he finished his PhD at the VU university in Amsterdam with a PhD in neurogenomics. His first post doc was in the MRC-Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, where he continued investigating models of neurodegeneration.
Then he switched topics and became Staff Scientist in Sequencing R&D at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute
In 2014, he changed groups within Sanger and became Staff Scientist to help establish the Single Cell Genomics Core Facility at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute where I have worked ever since.
